Halloween Party

Synopses:

Three best friends-Sam, Kelsey & Georgina- decide to throw a halloween party at Sam’s house. On the same night, their rich neighbour & College nemesis -Rebecca- decides to host an extravagant party filled with amazing halloween decorations, zombie actors, catering and live music at her mum’s house. Sam, Kelsey & Georgina discover one of their few party guests is dead and in an attempt to hide the body they decide to take it to Rebecca’s party, hoping it will blend in with the zombie actors.

Character Descriptions:

Sam: Sam (18) is the head of the friend group and is often looked to for making decisions, being in charge and telling Kelsey & Georgina what to do. She is incredibly kind and vulnerable at times, despite putting on her facade of the bitchy ‘Popular Girl’ at College. Sam has a lot going on at home with her very unreliable mum, but is determined not to let that interfere with her popularity or reputation. Sam can be quite controlling and can get angry if things don’t go her way. She enjoys watching Netflix reading and spending time with her Cat-Marshmallow. Sam always likes to wear the latest fashion and be seen at the best parties, but secretly she would love nothing more than to stay at home alone in her pyjamas and binge watch TV. Sam has brown hair, brown eyes and a slender figure.

Kelsey: Kelsey (18) is Sam’s childhood friend. She is quite a morbid, sarcastic and dark person with an unusual sense of humour. Kelsey hardly ever shows emotion and tends to express herself through sarcasm and dark humour. She doesn’t like to share to much about her personal life but will sometimes confined in Sam. Her style is mostly black almost and gothic, as she only wears what she likes not caring about fashion. She likes to watch true crime documentaries on Netflix and has a passion for writing that she keeps to herself. Kelsey has auburn hair, green eyes and an average figure.

Georgina: Georgina (18) is the newest member of the friend group, meeting Sam & Kelsey in High school. She is a very bubbly, silly and funny girl who tends to say things without thinking first. Despite being quite dozy Georgina can surprise people with her knowledge and ideas. She likes to talk a lot and can often overshare about her personal life. Her style is quite similar to Sam’s as she likes to wear the newest things, but prefers bright colours. Georgina loves to watch TV, YouTube, post on Instagram, go out with friends and spend time with her dog, Maddie.

Step Outline 1 min script :

1. Sam, Kelsey & Georgina decide to throw a halloween party. On the same night, Rebecca decides to throw a halloween party. Both parties invite people on Instagram. Most people attend Rebeccas party instead of sam’s. Sam, Kelsey & Georgina are disappointed in their party, unhappy that only a few people attended and angry/jealous at Rebecca for having the better party
2. While discussing what to do to save their party they discover what they believed to be a guy in a zombie costume on the floor to actually be dead. Luckily, no one else has noticed as they are too busy talking, drinking and on their phones.
3. Shocked at their discovery, they discreetly disappear to the bedroom to talk about what they have just seen, leaving the lifeless body where it is.

Step outline 3 minute script:

1. Sam, Kelsey & Georgina decide to throw a halloween party. On the same night, Rebecca decides to throw a halloween party. Both parties invite people on Instagram. Most people attend Rebecca’s party instead of sam’s. Sam, Kelsey & Georgina are disappointed in their party, unhappy that only a few people attended and angry/jealous at Rebecca for having the better party
2. While discussing what to do to save their party they discover what they believed to be a guy in a zombie costume on the floor to actually be dead. Luckily, no one else has noticed as they are too busy talking, drinking and on their phones.
3. Shocked at their discovery, they discreetly disappear to the bedroom to talk about what they have just seen, leaving the lifeless body where it is.
4. After freaking out at the situation in the bedroom, they try to decide what to do. Sam suggests calling the police. Kelsey shuts down that idea by stating the obvious- that they’ll be suspects of his murder and maybe arrested. Instead, Kelsey suggests they bury him in a kind of sarcastic tone, but they all know she is actually really considering it. While looking at Rebecca’s party on Instagram, Georgina suggests they take the body to her party as he looks just like the zombie actors there and no one will notice he’s actually dead… At least until the party’s over and then it’ll be Rebecca’s problem. Surprised at Georgina’s brilliant idea, Sam agrees and convinces a reluctant Kelsey to help.
5. The three of them come out of the bedroom to tell the guests the party is over, only to discover everyone has gone. Accept the body.
6. Assuming everyone went to Rebecca’s party, they get to work deciding how to get the body to Rebecca’s. Kelsey makes a remark about the body saying he looks like a passed out drunk guy laying there. This gives Sam the idea that they should pretend he’s drunk, hold him up and walk him over to the party.
7. They prop the body up and start walking over to Rebecca’s. Stopping half way to adjust the body’s position
8. Once they arrive at the party, it turns out theres a guest list. This stops them in their tracks as they were not actually invited.
9. They grow increasing nervous as they approach the person on the door, holding the list. The person eyes them judgingly, assessing their outfits.
10. Sam gives her name and is immediately denied. They try to bargain with the person and say they know Rebecca. The person refuses them entrance and insists they leave and take their drunk friend with them.
11. Staring at each other in worry, Sam, Kelsey and Georgina slowly back away from the house with the body. Georgina asks what they do now and Kelsey replies with the same suggestions from earlier: Bury him.

Halloween Party

INT. SAM’S LIVING ROOM. EVENING

Sam, Kelsey & Georgina are finishing up decorating Sam’s house for the Halloween party. The decoration Sam is putting up falls down, Sam exhales angrily.

Sam

I can’t believe Rebecca’s having her party the same night as mine!

Kelsey & Georgina look at each other unsure of what to say, they continue to decorate the living room.

Georgina

Emma and Jay said they’re coming an i’m sure they’ll bring others

Looking disappointed, Sam finally puts up the decoration after it falling down a lot. Kelsey & Georgina add the finishing touches to the decorations.

Kelsey starts to get the music ready and Georgina starts setting up snacks.

Sam

Did you post on Instagram about our party?

Sam asked Georgina, as she has over 10k followers on Instagram and is known as a bit of a social media influencer.

Georgina

Yeah, over two thousand people have seen it so far. Rebecca’s seen it too.

Georgina shows Sam the insta story of Rebeccas Party.

The doorbell rings, Sam stops what she’s doing and smiles at Georgina & Kelsey seeming very hopeful.

INT. SAM’S LIVING ROOM. LATE EVENING

Cuts to a montage of Sam’s living room filled with about 10 people, music blasting, people drinking and laughing. Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. Sam, Georgina & Kelsey are mingling with people, taking selfies and having fun.

A few people start to leave their party.

Sam

You’re leaving already?

The people leaving don’t seem to want to offer an explanation as to whey they are leaving so soon.

Georgina shows Sam an Instagram story of Rebecca’s party filled with people, zombie actors, chefs, a DJ and amazing decorations.

Georgina

I think I know where they’re going

Georgina scrolls though Rebeccas Instagram feed showing Sam more photos and videos of the awesome rival party.

They start to clean up the party as the remaining guests begin to leave. While cleaning up Sam notices a guy in a zombie costume passed out on the floor. She approaches him, bends down and nudges him to wake up but he doesn’t budge.

Sam

Hey! Wake up, time to go.

Sam nudges him again and he slumps over. Starting to get scared, she checks his pulse on his wrist but doesn’t feel a heartbeat.

Sam

Guys!

Sam looks for her friends in a panic. She gets up and heads to the bathroom, indicating they should follow her.

INT. BATHROOM. LATE EVENING.

Sam

He’s dead

Folding her arms, Sam looks at her friends- who look a bit bewildered.

Sam

The zombie guy on the floor…

Kelsey & Georgina exchange looks, confused.

Kelsey

Are you sure he’s not just passed out?

Sam

Yeah, I checked his pulse. He’s dead!

There are a few seconds of silence before Georgina speaks.

Georgina

What are we gonna do?

They all look at each concerned, waiting for an answer.
